Back from Washington D.C.

It was a hard trip......drove all night Friday.......walked MILES on Saturday.......stood in lines......waited for crowds to move.......stood in lines some more........spent 4 hours getting back to the car....wah, wah, wah.....

What a small price to pay for such a GREAT day. The speakers were great, but the real thing that I took away was that there are MANY people in this country that still desire for the days of what we now refer to as "old fashioned values".....call it "Ozzy and Harriot" or "The Cleavers" or "Andy Griffith", but I beleive that there are more people that want those days back than there are that want what our society has "evolved" into.

It was moving, no doubt......but more than that, I felt it was inspirational and has now restored (go figure) many peoples beliefs that we should get back to those days of old with the values that our grandparents and great grandparents used to get through the toughest times of the 20th century.

I have been pondering a question for quite some time as our country goes through a tough economic time: "If our country was to go into another Great Depression, how would todays society handle it?"
The answer that I keep coming up with is not one that I belive our founders or grandparents would be very proud of.......but I now believe that there is HOPE....!!

Off to Washington D.C.

We don't normally post about our political beliefs but have decided to make an exception since we are attending the 8/28 Restoring Honor rally that is being held in Washington D.C. this Saturday.

We're looking forward to it and are taking the girls with us to help them understand that they must be involved and stand for thier beliefs.

With the negative changes that are occuring in our Country, led by the progrressive left aand supported by our "Dear Leader", we hope to ground them solidly in Christian conservative values and principles so they are prepared to counter and challenge the liberal progressive agendas and ideology that is being driven through the educational system, the lame stream media, and people that they interact with.

The girls have some anxiety because of some of the threats that are being made towards people that will be attending the rally, but I believe this is the right thing to do.

We'll let you know how it goes!!!

Day At Dollywood

One of the things we buy ourselves for Christmas each year is Season passes to Dollywood.  We really enjoy the Christmas shows that they have (and they decorate the place really neat), and for just $30 more than the price of one days admission, we buy Season passes.

Works out really well since it's only about 30 mintues away and a good place for Chris and the girls to go and hang out during the summer while I'm at work.

Last week, we went together on the weekend and I (dave) actually rode a roller coaster.....not great for the back, but the kids get a kick out of seeing the old man get the crap scared out of him.  This is the FIRST time I've ever ridden roller coasters and now I know why I waited 53 years to do it.

On the Road

I've been on the road since last week and haven't been able to post.  I will be home in a few days and will catch up then.

Lot's of cool stuff going on -- like Chris and the girls going on a trip to find Hannah Montanna in her hometown.....you won't believe what they did.

Later.....Dave
