More Berries...!!

It's been a great year for wild Blackberries.......lots of rain and PLENTY of heat (the only good thing about it)...!!

We put our sister in law, Lynn, to work helping us pick why she was visiting.........real nice host aren't we!!!

We have enough jam now (41 jars) to last us through the winter as well as some in the freezer for some cobblers this winter.

I think we are done picking now, but there are still lots of berries left.......sooooo....you never know, we hate to let good (and FREE) berries go, but the bears will enjoy.

Laurens Baptism

Our youngest daughter, Lauren, was baptized on June 27th.  We are proud of her for makiing this decision on her own!!!

Our entire family also joined the church.  We tried a few of the other churches since we've moved here last year and finally decided that we would join this particular one.  We like the people there and they don't seem to have fears of "outsiders" that weren't born and raised here.

Mom Gets A Break Over The 4th Of July Weekend

I (dad), took the girls out to Louisiana to visit family over the long 4th of July weekend.

Chris decided to stay home this trip so we wouldn't have to board the dogs and cats as well as take a well deserved break from the 3 of us........yes, it's o.k. to take a break from each other, and also a good idea in my opinion.

We left on Friday afternoon and drove to Tuscaloosa Alabama before stopping for the night (the girls always enjoy spending a night in a hotel on the way out).  We went out to dinner at Pizza Hut and had lousy service, but good pizza.........then it was back to the hotel to turn in.  Lauren just HAAAADDD to take her two favorite bears with her, which took up the whole bed, but she was happy.

Over the weekend the girls went tubing on their Uncles boat, swimming, (I got some fishing in) and went to church with the Grandparents on Sunday morning where there was a 4th of July celebration (Grandma and Grandpa are on the left side of the choir singing (bottom right photo).

One of the highlights of the trip for the girls was going to the "Vexcon" office from the show "Billy The Exterminator"......."Billy" wasn't there but we went ahead and got out and got pictures of the girls in front of the "Vexcon" truck and office.

We crammed a lot into a few days and now that I've posted what we've done, I'm REALLY tired from the trip and am going to go take a BIG OL NAP........good night!!
